Season 2019 has come to a close, with lots of success for FOSCC teams.
Mens 1st XI 5th in Division 1
After a restructure of the leagues, the 1st XI were in the promotion race and ended 5th in a competitive division where 40 points separated the top 6.
Stefan Van Dyk lead the batting again with 646 runs at 40.38 whilst newcomer Raza Tahir scored 452 and 26.59. Khizar Zaman claimed most wickets with 27 at 18 whilst vice captain Mike Dinneny took 26 at 15.8.
Mens 2nd XI Division 7 CHAMPIONS
Baynes’ 2nd XI won fourteen out of 22 games to finish top by 21 points in Division 7. Jin Jandu lead the batting with 755 runs at 50.33 whilst skipper Baynes hit 550 at 42.31. Matt ‘Cakey’ Read was top wicket taker with 32 at 16.78 whilst Nadeem Tariq took 26 at just 8.54.
Mens 3rd XI Division 10 West 7th
With six games abandoned, the 3rd XI won three and had two winning draws to finish in the middle of the table. James Race needed just four innings to hit 344 runs (Average 86) whilst Alan Harris had 193 runs at 27.57. Top bowler was Max Wilkes with 20 wickets at 19.9 whilst Bobby Sharma had 19 wickets at 15.21.
Mens 4th XI Division 12 West 8th
Lakhbir Singh hit 281 runs at 35.13 and Sunil Verma 273 runs at 30.33. Leading wicket taker was Chris Talbot with 16 wickets at 24, whilst Chris Whitehouse took 11 wickets at 34.00
Sunday Team
Andy Roberts’ Sunday XI won 7 of their 17 games and also tied with Coventry Ramblers where leading run scorer Josh Longhorne hit an unbeaten 116 – Josh hit one other century and finished with 325 runs at 54.17. Jin Jandu continued his Saturday form with 309 runs at 38.63. Top Sunday bowler was Tahir Hashmi with 26 wickets at 14.88, and Chris Whitehouse added 12 wickets to his Saturday efforts at 35.00.
